Thread for posting any doujin goods you own, print, games, or otherwise. Pictures are optional I suppose but feel free to share how you got it, what it is, or anything else you want to share. I'll start This is the only print Touhou doujin work that I own actually. Picked it up on a whim one trip to Akiba years ago. Saw it on the shelf and it caught my eye and I ended up buying it in the end. It's really quite a neat book, you probably couldn't find a more comprehensive guide to Touhou. It's almost akin to a massive manual for the Touhou series from PC-98 to 2017 (along with other Touhou-inspired doujins). It contains a thorough mapping of spellcards, data files, characters (with original illustrations), etc. It wasn't too pricey either, if you ever see something similar I would recommend picking it up. It's nice on a shelf and fun to flip around on occasion.

woah, that sounds awesome. not too many things are so thorough to include pc98, much less one as recent as 2017. should include all the way up to hidden star in four seasons. sometimes i search ebay for touhou stuff, it's worked out twice, netting me a rad remilia-styled mouse + flandre mousepad and bohemian archive in japanese red. {image big} mostly though my doujin stuff is on steam. kinda hard to locate all of the touhou stuff there but a majority of it is tagged as "faith" if you're ever looking. not sure why everybody decided that but it's convenient, especially since it's not like the platform is being flooded with religious games favorite one i've got on there has to be fantastic danmaku festival part 2. it's half pcb remake, half its own thing. the general "it is still winter" -> go to the netherworld -> fight yuyuko -> fight yukari is the same but all the spellcards are different, some of the bosses are different, and yukari has been demoted to extra stage to make room for the new phantasm. not that it does yukari any disservice, this game is worth it for the extra stage alone. the spellcards all around are great, but yukari's are beautiful. {image also big} (pic from steam) been a while since i played it, but touhou wandering souls is a really good free doujin game. how it came to be is an absolute enigma to me as it is a fighting-platformer-real time rpg made in rpgmaker. supposedly they built everything in ruby, no idea why they bothered with that engine at all. also breaks fangame guidelines by using 12.3 sprites and official music, but it's free. i'm not gonna complain. very cool fighting mechanics and you can go around gensokyo and beat up various people in exceptionally challenging stages (no idea about other difficulties but i went lunatic) {yeah} (pic from rpgmaker.net) and so i'm not just talking about fangames, some doujins i don't own but are super cool: anything by this guy. nothin but pure touhou comedy. a bit tasteless at times to the point that some of em got tagged as ecchi on the sites that i originally read them on? arguably, perhaps, but it's all for the sake of the gags and jokes. the guy also has some original series as well, just as good.

I'd definitely enjoy having a guidebook like that lol wiki is nice but that one's in a book format flandre mouse flandre mouse does it explode system32 doe oh yeah I heard about some of those steam fangames before I don't remember much other than one of them had playable patchouli and one of them was EoSD remake lol I hovered over the link and I immediately recognized bomber grape I got pretty tired of anime in general after a few years but daily lives of high school boys is one of a few I keep coming back to anyway and zaix10 is just as good except random mini stories that somehow manage to link together I dunno where he went nowadays but I will always remember that one yukari gap gag and the ultimate version definitely these are some of the best touhou doujins I have read because I don't remember any names other than bomber grapealso I don't have any doujin stuff at all I have read a decent amount and heard a lot of doujin music and I'd get that stuff if I was around one of them reitaisais or comikets I tried getting a little touhou music doohickey on ebay because it offered me a $10 coupon and then when I tried to order it they put tax and I couldn't use the coupon on the tax so eventually I will find a way to acquire such an elusive article

spongelevator flandre mouse lets go ability is to destroy anything (in garry's mod) yo you already know whats up yeah bomber grape is a genius. i think he has an ongoing series, haven't checked it out yet though also you mentioning music reminded me that i've got a doujin album {my phone takes big images} physical version of this. was nice because it didn't cost too much to ship
yeah jp conventions are probably the best place to get stuff like this. hoping my japanese is gonna be good enough to get to one next year or something
ebay is pretty unreliable, whenever i look on it i just sort by ending soonest and then lowest price, usually give up unless i see something on the first page
lazulum no problem, i get needing to wait some time to respond

This is the greatest mouse ever made. The CIA glow-in-the-dark Flandre mouse. Six clicks. More than enough to kill anything that moves.
hopefully there is more bomber grape his work cannot be topped if not then well we must wait five years until we forget all the jokes and then reread oh that is same guy who made the real neat clownpiece metal version very nice one and actually available for purchasing in USA without using expensive proxy also does is either of you know if there is some sort of way to find touhou doujin musics of certain genres there's some genres where I could only find like 4 songs on youtube and the english touhou music database usually shows less than that I dunno if there is a japanese language one or if I missed some big site but hopefully there is a place to find the good stuff

Aeon Yeah it has the mangas and music CDs as well, it really is comprehensive. And you're exactly right, includes up to Hidden Star in Four Seasons. Here's an entry you may like That's a pretty cool mouse, looks high quality too. I think the mouse is Flandre-styled too, has her wings. Also, obligatory Laughed a bit when I read the bit about faith, that's funny. That PCB remake sounds great, nice that they added their own spin on the game rather than just making it a visually updated version of the original. The visuals and art are quite nice though, definitely. Gives more reason to try it I think. I remember that Wandering Souls from long ago actually. I think I played that once with a group that did some game commentary series on YouTube. Brings back some memories, that was a fun game. Oof, have to register to check out the doujin author. I'll check that out before long I hope. Sounds neat, haven't read any doujins like that in a good while, I remember Happy Flame Time being popular back in the day. They were the originators of Sanae being a good girl heh. spongelevator Yeah it's pretty nice, it actually has entries from the Japanese wiki included as well. Being a tad tired, that Yukari doujin is funny but I'll have to let it settle in my mind so I can figure what Yukari's after haha Y'know, I've never actually attended a Reitaisai or Comiket. I've been invited and have had some chances, but never went in the end. Will likely be a long time before I ever go to one though. Best of luck to you on getting one of those articles haha

spongelevatorfor specific genres? can't think of too much beyond either learning what each circles make or typing 東方 [genre] in youtube. only ones i can think of immediately are A-ONE which make the best touhou eurobeat and undead corporation which make some very heavy metal. richaadeb, the guy who made the album i just posted, does some not-so-heavy and he is cool i haven't really checked out the music database but the touhou wiki seems to also have a pretty thorough list of albums lazulumwoah, nice. i'll save those and give em a better read when my japanese is a bit better yeah, not sure why i called it a remilia mouse. i'm glad it hasn't fallen into the wrong hands, i hate to think of how many esports games would be ruined with the unlimited destructive power it holds sorry about sending you to somewhere that tries to make you make an account. i guess i made one a long time ago and forgot it was a requirement

I could definitely use a book like that one it looks to have good information on all the characters and stuff except not too long and including every specific thing like a wiki would so I would finally find out what hatate even does maybe I do not know lol ZUN is a three letter agent confirmed he is leaking classified area 51 information turns out, it's actually gensokyo I saw that one sanae happy flame time doujin though I have not seen any others yet hopefully dynastyscans has all of those because half the wiki links look to be gensokyo.org and well rip if not also it's kinda a pain but stuff can be read on dynastyscans without signing in searching in the search bar takes you to a login page so you have to look up the author+ dynastyscans on google or bing or whatever and access it that way instead eh I meant more like uuh very specific genres like flamenco or surf rock I am usually able to find a handful of musics with specific genres on youtube and I know noe ino makes surf rock except I do not know if he is even alive anymore usually with the english+chinese wiki and touhoudb/tlmc I am able to at least prove the existence of any album or creator like that one surreacheese group that named all their albums after cheese lol though I have hard time finding specific stuff because I dunno where to look much flandre mouse is so powerful that one click is equivalent to 2 clicks on a normal mouse the days of double clicking firefox are over long live flandre mouse in the new world

AeonI'll hopefully have a clearer picture of the page by that point haha Such a mouse should be banned from tournament play, provides an obviously unfair advantage eh Nah nothing to apologize for, usually making an account is no issue. Timing is unfortunately bad is all, my schedule is starting to get horribly packed again. Sometimes I may be logged on here for a long time, that is me returning to type a sentence or two and then getting back to work on something or other haha spongelevatorMaybe I'll read the Hatate entry and get back to you one of these days haha I have the perfect meme about ZUN but it's a gif and too large to be attached unfortunately. I'll keep it in mind and maybe figure a way to share it if it ever becomes relevant again. That's unfortunate about the doujin scans. Even in Japan a lot of doujins are hard to get your hands on once they've been out for long enough. This is especially the case for non-Touhou doujins, but maybe Touhou might be a tad more promising; hopefully in any case. Naming albums after cheese is a fun gimmick and probably helped them standout in the end haha Certainly would attract my attention It's interesting to think about how a large part of the internet's history is becoming lost in a sense. Sad in a way, really. I'm sure these CDs exist in some physical collections out there at least. Knew some people in the past with absurdly large collections

spongelevatordynastyscans is pretty good i just use mangadex because its faster sometimes also you are absolutely correct about the double click because i've got a macro that makes the buttons on the sides do space and double click. not useful a lot of the time but if something forces me to speed input its an option lazulummedia preservation is more difficult than it used to be, with people like youtube destroying classic videos left and right and various companies even gunning for archive.org. not to mention flash going out in a couple months for no good reason and a lot of old forums being unreadably filled with tinypic logos. at least photobucket just slaps a watermark on it

Yeah eh YouTube has nuked a significant portion of its older videos. I think I remember even Filthy Frank having had a video or two being taken down. That was a big reason he quit, YouTube was too unpredictable and couldn't really be trusted. He wasn't wrong.
I'll bet a lot of interests are after Archive, an invaluable resource used to expose countless lies from the media to even the WHO.
The disappearance of Flash will take with it massive chunk of the old internet. Sad.
Those Tinypic logos are certainly a bit much. Free photo sharing is a thing of the past I suppose.
Edit to remain on topic:
This certainly affects Touhou as well, which around 2010 especially had a very prolific presence on the internet primarily through its doujin works. From videos, memes, flash games even, it spread around. A lot of that will be a lot more difficult to find now, sadly

oh I somehow read mangadex as dynastyscans when I hovered over the link lol it seems many of these manga sites have bothersome logins then lol what your mouse has a turbo button I think I saw some fancy mouse that can copy and paste before as well somewhere out there is probably a mouse that can play doom at this rate youtube kids has ruined so many videos remember when "it's a stone luigi, you didn't make it" had all them comments I mean at least it didn't get removed or something but it is a warzone in there I just download whatever's good at this point a 1-5tb hard drive's affordable these days so I just saved the moneys for that now it is full of strange niconico stuff that youtube does not want as well as all strange touhou fanworks such as touhou kotatsu mandarin honestly for anything that was released and sold for money I'd say there's at least a 75% chance it'll be on a private tracker those places have everything absolutely not worth trying to get in because they literally interview you and there's all sorts of messes like tree bans and having to maintain an uploading schedule but it's a bit reassuring that many of those touhou doujin albums before 2008 are probably out there I don't know if there's any reliable way to save a whole website but hopefully one day there is so we don't click on the touhou wiki forums section and half the links are entirely dead and gone forever also unrelated but related there's doujin music, books, games and animations, but is there any other big category

lazulum touhou has had a lot destroyed, it doesn't help that so much is only distributed at conventions. i never really used it, but the late gensokyo.org seemed to have had quite a bit before it went down. more recently the game jam site went down at the end of august, taking at least a couple games with it. i downloaded at least 80 out of the 90+ that were there, but by the time i was doing it quite a few of the download links were already busted. the english jam people who partnered with them made a collection of a bunch of the games on itch.io, so at least a third of them are backed up. slightly related: nintendo recently announced a 3d mario game collection including mario 64. even though it's the first way you've been able to buy it legally since the wii, they seem to be encouraging piracy by only having it available until march. after that, it, too, will become lost media in the eyes of the law. same thing with the sunshine and galaxy 1 they're packaging it with. dolphin isn't going anywhere, though. a shame that it's far more reliable than the people who make the games it can be used for. spongelevator 5 terabytes? that is a solid amount of space. i download everything i see but recently have had problems with my cap of around 910 gb and have had to cull a bunch of zips, rars, and i can't even think about big steam games. except for garry's mod, which takes up about a fifteenth of my computer alone. oops the wayback machine from archive.org is the premier way to save websites, even better than downloading it locally. even stores versions from multiple dates if you wanted to do something like go back and see the lunatic red forums a decade agothere's doujin conventions and concerts, i think. i've seen a doujin cafe or two, this one called the boundary satellite cafe just has a crazy cool menu

it aint much but gensokyo.org exists on the web archive in some form I've just been downloading a little bit from there every now and then in case there are ever broken links so I mean I dunno for how long but it seems to have survived in a sad, comatose form yeah a handful of the ones I tried to get were broken fast at least most of them seem to have survived including strange multiplying hecatia game lol I'd hope nintendo doesn't go back and remove galaxy from the wii U eshop after announcing that though yeah the fact that they're selling it like super mario cereal is very bad better to just ride the dolphin through the seven seas I got the two (2) 2(two) terabyte external ones so if one dies I still got all the stuff lol garry's mod is mgs4 sized it seems I wonder if in another 10 years suddenly we'll have wacky 300gb super mario 3d universe released on apple ibox U and PC lol that old one looks incredibly crusty I always thought it just consistently looked like this because forum kinda died around 2014 anyway also I tried archiving first page of random thread but when I opened it the page just says it's for members only so lol if you see that sad august 31st archive there that was me I did not know there was doujins cafes I clicked on menu and there's coffee with the gap eyes lmao I google translated the rest and I had no idea what was going on but there was "dystopian curry" and "eye N Ball Prime" also "maeri berry hahn flavored spice cookie" if you ever want to taste the mythical maeri berry hahn, this is the place this is the power of google translate also do those happen like regularly or something if so I must taste the maeri berry hahn cookie one day or else I'll never be complete
also I forgot but should I create doujin music thread so we can be like our lunatic red ancestors who posted many youtube song links that got removed but at least there was the musics
