aeon makes a fangame for a year and a half and never properly posts about it aeon won't shut the hell up about how much better aeon would make touhou games with nothing yet to show for it NAH NO MORE GAME ISN'T DONE BUT I'VE GOT SOMETHING TO SHOW so here's the deal: this game is for REAL this video does not do a tenth of the bragging i would actually like to. gotta keep it normal. for the public. but i tell ya, this thing has a rock solid foundation. my pal and i have been crunching away at systems for a crazy amount of time, and the framework we have set up is just utterly insanely flexible. this is not 18.5 right, those items are not just a bunch of if statements. that's a proper original design entity component system that lets us make entire damn games in items if we want to. it's awesome. you can kinda see how bullets are in the second video on the channel, i'm gonna upload more about it but basically: it balls hard. i've looked at every other danmaku framework out there, nothing released has as clean syntax and pretty soon once we're done with optimizations, nothing will have comparable performance. they tell ya, making the game is gonna suck. they tell ya, once you're a year in, it'll be a slog. they're WRONG. there's no other game i'd rather be working on than this because the development environment is ten outta ten golden. if i had to make a single battle in undertale i would probably cut off my arms but i'm perfectly fine with punching out another 11 stages of patterns and 150 items in this thing. 11 more stages, yeah, three routes that diverge after stage 3 and are 7 long (including the first 3). we not just on some bpohc shit we are past it. past the realm of sanity. you can sell your shot types and bombs, it's a REAL roguelike game. danmaku is still danmaku but it has a lot of stuff vastly different than your average touhou game owing in large part to my good pal who's helping me with all this not knowing jack shit about touhou. that's a super good thing because and he just has ideas, we test em, he's right. the big thing was when we decided that z, x, and c could feature whatever sort of active item you put on them and weren't locked to shots and bombs. i mention that in the video i think. running three flashbombs is hard but awesome anyway all that stuff i spout about story and gameplay and yukari and "they should go to the moon again" and yukari is in this game. when it comes out. i'm gonna be selling a four stage trial version at touhoufest, once the other three stages in that route are polished up it gets slapped on steam as a full game. other two routes are like important to the story but i've been making it so we can just drop the first one and chill out for a bit before deciding if we wanna make the other two anytime soon. maybe make something original and for real in that time. a guy can only touhou for so long you know that's anti-overscoping measures, baby. oh, how lunatic!

ok I do not know what approximately 65% of those words mean (I still did not play 18 or 18.5 or roguelike I will eventually maybe probably) but I clicked on video and do I have hirnwürmer (brain worms) or did you release or show a much earlier version of this at one point I could have sworn I saw title screen or a video or played this like a year ago but I looked for thirty minutes and the evidence points 100% to hirnwürmer (brain worms) as findings were inconclusive and files did not exist
anyway that does not matter when game is released I will attempt it with my three credits clear pcb easy mode 40 bombs on one boss skillz maybe I make it to stage three

spongelevatori have had a couple like closed microreleases and i've been running a twitter (minimally) but i don't think i've posted it here before i know you do not play danmakugames nowadays so no need ta play it if you dont want to i am just posting because i am a poster (it will be fire though) HatsuneeMikumany thanks it is written is mostly gamemaker's GML, but recently we've decided to use an HTML5 export with javascript engine modifications so we can have multithreading. hopefully we can squeeze about 50k bullets out with that GML is pretty good for making bullets because of dynamic scope and its super clean function references so despite its many troubles i don't terribly regret it

ok probably it's the hirnwürmer (brain worms) then maybe I saw it in an alternate universe or a dream or maybe the hirnwürmer (brain worms) have taken a bite from my hippocampus
it has been a long time since I danmakuge so I will give this one a shot maybe I can finally figure out what roguelike is since there is no way I am playing the original rogue again with those damn letter A that come out of the dark and permanently level down your armor

I wonder how many bullets I could squeeze out with bevy. Though, I'd have to make the whole thing work first of all and I'm fairly unfamiliar with the Touhou games.

bevy oh thats a bit scary, rust and all. i bet you could really get a lot though since i hear rust is performant as hell. javascript is javascript and gml is transpiled to make some incredibly verbose javascript. not exactly fun for devices, let alone the fact that you have to run chromium in some form on top of that. the entire thing gets a hell of a lot better with firefox's js interpreter, but it doesn't seem like there's an equivalent to node js for it, so we kinda have to do the stupid way just to package the game still though bevy is less scary than another danmaku engine contemporary, danmokou. it seems to have hella performance in exchange for its scripting language which is just absolutely monstrous
