ok now this one
I already played this normally the first time on normal mode where I lost what nine units
then the second time I honestly don't recall but I believe I just took benny and paired him up with tonics and meals and shit and had him take all the heat
third time around I won't bother
the gimmick is abysmal and you get azama with two hexing rods right in the middle of the map who I absolutely can't ORKO with anyone other than maybe meal+tonic+rally+pairup+dance zerker axe gunter but I also don't have anyone who can take that without being fucked up and I have no idea how stave targeting works in this game (I've even heard it's just not consistent at all) and I aint figuring it out for one map
so we is gonna skip this

and throughout the entire playthrough every time I went and mycastle support grinded bernd would always have to wait sitting on the seize point while whoever benchie and whoever other benchie would pair up and throw spears with 6 hit for those child paralogues
I don't know how many fliers is necessary for this but you see bernd only has 7 move
and he needs one more

first thing I did was figure out how to actually get up to hinoka and this took like thirty minutes to figure out but it's fine because once you know how to do it you're spending maybe two minutes doing it
I was thinking velouria would be the one to do it I went and checked and with her high ass attack and an effective 36 might beaststone she should 100% be able to do it yes
she can't
I have NO idea why
but velouria with beastbane does not 3x but 2x effective damage...
the game calls beastbane "bonus damage against beast units" the very same as the ridersbane
and the next time I went and tested this the ridersbane does indeed do 3x damage against hinoka
there is absolutely no information on this anywhere unless you specifically go searching for "fe fates beastbane/golembane effective damage" and velouria already does so much damage I never questioned it until just now
but yeah because of that we're gonna have to rely on a gunter luna with ridersbane
gunter has some 40 skill and I think 66 hit
in high school our probability unit was cut so I cannot tell you what the odds for both of those happening are
but it took 3 attempts

before doing any of this I thought ninjas always worked the way here in lunatic and that people complained about ch17 despite xander and shura because of that

...yeah I dunno why this is excused but marth vs mediuth and julia vs julius and roy vs idunn and ike vs ashnard and burger and marth vs mediuth again aren't (for this one you CAN get other units involved but as you will see shortly that is not something to easily rely on)
lucky enough for me though oh ho ho general correnz is here (there's even armor running sound effect in mycastle got dang!!!)
I was gonna try and use poison strike to finish ryoma off by turn 7 or 8 or whatever

here it does 5dmg to ryoma who proceeds to recover 3hp from the floor
do 5/55 and you will find this number does not equal 0.2 and so that isn't happening I'm gonna have to wade through this debuff stack mess the entire way through
once I realized poison strike wasn't happening and I would indeed have to deal with those ninjas I brought over effie put her in range of 3 ninjas who do 38 attack and she had 38 defense (or something like that I don't entirely remember)
and she died
so yeah that's why nobody has that skill until now
it almost feels like a parody of itself it's like when people complain about ballistas or STRs in thracia and then the game slaps down like four STR ballistas and you think man I wonder if this is an extreme case of self awareness or an extreme case of lacking self awareness
also when I started the game up on that day I won a thunder from the lottery
then after that effie thing I had zero desire to attempt this chapter so I put the game down for a few days and then I picked it back up and I won a thunder from the lottery
I think the game wants me to give kana tuesday+4
anyway so I think up how to do this I know whoever goes up against those first ninjas is 100% fucked for the majority of the chapter and since many of them have seal skills gunter shouldn't be relying on shurikenbreaker with his whopping like 20 inherent avoid
also niles is not shurikenbreaker level since I didn't promote him early enough
so what we's gonna do is put niles in range of one ninja so they go for him with his lower defense and then effie gets attacked by the other two with a javelin and 50% hit so in other words I do it for her to miss twice but get 2wexp
this works and I clear out the first two groups of enemies (oh yeah I'm going the left path by the way) and then I see all the lungespammers with spy's yumis

none of these enemies move unless you're in range of lunge and that skill works regardless of whether the attack hits
so I realize hm maybe perchance perhaps I should not have brought only one stave user who lacks any staves other than the classics such as "heal" and "physic" and today we're a little daring and bringing "bloom festal" too
and so I put benny just to see what happens and you can guess what happened
just for the sake of trying it out I try to go on the right side and the grisly would poison strike spy's shuriken spam over there is what I like to call displeasing so we are not doing that
scooping up some staves and entrap and bringing many stave users later I can entrap one of those puppets freeze the other and also I found out there's a breakable wall which I thought wasn't breakable so we do that too and everything goes fine and well
and I get to saizo and he says something like "I side with lord ryoma I protect ryoma!!!" then velouria immediately crits him and he doesn't even get to use his flame shuriken for like 10 damage
and I think "ok finally no more of this shit ass chapter now open up them fuckin things"
but the things do not open
so uhh ok well uhh perhaps you must sit on the pillow thing and then they'll open
they do not
ok maybe you stand in front of the thing and it'll open?

so this is when I try and move my entire army over to the right side very quickly very speedily but that shit takes too long and corn aint got enough healing and can't take that shit and dies
so I wonder "why no open"
upon actually reading the words you have to defeat BOTH of them in 20 turns
not just one

on normal you just go for one and I thought on lunatic the difficulty upgrade of this map was supposed to be they essentially inflated enemy stats without actually doing it through broken skills
but turns out reading the words is important because no they want you to deal with that AND go both routes as well as doing it 5 turns faster
I was a fool and there's also clearly no way I'm gonna get both hallways down since I don't have any megajuggernauts or high avoid shurikenbreaker users or some weird ass vantage OHKO build planned from the very beginning or anything
so my new plan was to bring xander since at base he'll perform pretty similarly to gunter who is one of the best I have right now
reclass him to great knight and use him in place of like 15/6 peri who has 70 hit on everything and gets ORKOd by half the enemies
and then now you got three units that can take a good amount of hits
with this I managed to kill saizo around turn 11 but it takes so long to actually get to the other side especially since they aren't nice enough to at least open the top two things to reach kagero easily
so that's not happening
not at all there isn't a ton I can do with this
once ryoma starts moving it's basically an RNGfest and I don't think I want to spend 90 minutes playing a chapter hoping each turn after 20 that he never gets astra or rend heaven or anything
so there are pretty much three options here
a. buy savage blow online since I remember in one ltc of this chapter they just cheesed it with that+dual club+swordbreaker
b. supportgrind corn with someone that gives malig knight then play shigure's paralogue and scoop that up
or c. have corn in shigure's paralogue and if he gets enough points of defense and wary fighter he should be able to survive for however long it takes to play the map

let's get two boats
put magic enemies on one and physical ones on the other
then have some but not all of them start moving so it's a pain in the ass to feed corn with his 80 hit and 6 damage while getting ORKOd back
things were going well the first time until reinforcements up the ass and they're part of that group that moves unprovoked so we all know how that went
second time I know they're there and it's easy and corn gets a bunch of levels and wary fighter and should take 0 damage from ryoma now since he did like 6 before or whatever (also free shigure who I'll allow)
I was gonna capture an adventurer for entrap so flora can stay a general but they're not real
anyway back to ch25 and it turns out corn still takes 4 damage anyway...?
but the damage is so low that even with astra he can heal to full hp with one vulnerary no matter what ryoma does and man do I have vulnerary
also shigure is here instead of xander to make anna's job easier she doesn't have to be on mend duty anymore
I go to the left clear it out and spent 40 minutes doing that go to the right spend another 10 getting things how I want them and then miss a 68 hit entrap and it breaks
I try to use freezes and then have anna kill the master of arms but it turns out that guy has countermagic which looks very very similar to counter and shining bow counts as magic so she dies
I feel like I already fell for the countermagic thing multiple times before but still I always just see the general shape of counter and assume yeah it's counter attack at range
going to the right makes it way easier since I know if entraps or freezes or whatever will miss immediately and all the offensive debuffs from this side will wear off by the time I go back to the left
still not babby easy but with corn who can actually live and knowing if the entrap will miss five minutes into the map this is far more doable
something like 35 turns later saizo is dead and everyone storms ryoma's room until realizing wait almost nobody can actually do anything my units are weak as shit
so benny the god chucks javelins at ryoma until he's low enough and emotional support kana takes a support role by debuffing the shit out of ryoma and shura gets some hits in
and finally it's time
I knew by taking this screenshot there was a chance the game would soft reset since it's done that before
but did I really win if I fear the chapter and leave behind my screenshot believing I couldn't repeat my success

I think this is one of the only times in the series I've seen them do a camus that wasn't shit (is he even a camus actually I dunno)

ok before we even get into this
I wanted to get benny +2str +2def because too lazy to actually check if his defense is adequate so I went to mess hall
velouria cooked a meal so utterly shit that everyone's stats went down which is something I didn't know was even possible
I can't undo it and I didn't save before going to the meal place because usually I just take what I get
but this turned into like four runs of before awakening with 80 in all stats midori because suddenly every single cook is utter shite and can at the very most provide like +1 str +1 def and I want benny to have large defense not large-1 defense
eventually I saw he had something to say so I just went up to him
and he said he was feeling "ok today" and got a surge in def and str
he was so tired of this he just did it himself and better than anyone else could
anyway I forgot iago's whole thing was he uses these staves so gunter immediately gets souped after getting enfeeble'd and I realize I forgot to give him last chapter's dracoshield
after THAT it's very easy just put benny and gunter turn 1 silence the maid then kill everything (and scoop up maid) turn 2 whoever gets entrapped just needs to take one magical hit then everyone kills the two sorcerers (and scoop up maid) then slap anna/shura in the sorcerer room and have everyone kill them next turn (and scoop up maid) and dump units on those stairs and the other ones
during the doing of this I realized the spot I left rallyman on was actually colored pink which means oops and so this sorcerer walks up with his mjolnr and like 30 crit and he crits and rallyman dies
at this point I'm thinking maybe I can just buy someone else's rallyman online they're all rallyman mine may be dead but his positive spirit lives on
so I keep going and entrap hans and gunter beats his ass (no dialogue?)
then finally there's only one room left and well
there are 19 enemies in there and probably at least half of them have wary fighter and countermagic and many of them have a bunch of effective weapons
so I open the door and run the fuck away
every single enemy starts sprinting in my general direction and everyone's running the hell away because half of these enemies are zerkers who can 2hko anyone and the other half are generals that take like five hits to kill
gunter quickly reclasses back to wyvern lord (I actually don't remember why he wasn't one here oh yeah wyrmslayers) and he chokes the point here along with kana
these two are the only ones not weak to any of that shit but kana can only take two hits before having to fuck back off
and she gets a 2% crit on a general and that general dies
and so she takes three hits and she dies
I don't know if this would have been doable if that didn't happen but well that definitely happened
I was thinking about putting corn back into big lord or dragon man or whatever and having him use the dragonstone+ with his big ass defenses but eh nah he stays ninja (since I forgot he was supposed to go butler)
the chapter is piss easy up until that final room and I pretty clearly have no good way to deal with it since they're doing their best impression of a genealogy map after sigurd seizes a castle but the only way I know to get around it is to spam mounts since there is a whopping two fire emblems where mounts aren't the best units
I aint got all those mounts
so you know what we're gonna cheating in the fire emblem fates I aint dealing with that I've slapped high stat units in groups of enemies and came out victorious all the time just look at elincia's gambit (also the cheese I found is too funny not to do anyway)

found this
when playing this normally you can see the enemies don't attack over the wall and that's meant for you to have to deal with each room basically all at once upon opening the door
this game does not have warp and lunge would only be possible if enemies were right at the wall which they are not and the one 3-range weapon you get is halfway through this chapter if you even bother getting it but you already have to be dealing with a room to get that and the final one clearly prevents it with enemy placements
they tried very hard to prevent you from being able to do anything cheesy
but they made one fatal mistake and that's adding in entrap aka reverse warp for people you don't like very much
and then tying reinforcements that move unprovoked to hans who can easily be entrapped
now I can wipe out generals with hand axe gunter dual striking with hammer lloyd and take care of a zerker then lunge the other one over
and bam the only enemies in the room that move are whichever ones you attack that turn
I accidentally leave gunter in range of hexing rod which sucks so I do emergency velouria reclass into malig knight and she lunges over with shura and concoctions and all is well
velouria with 8 mag and an 8 might forged disrobing gale does 12x2 damage to this one zerker in here lel sweet
then after killing everything outside of entrap range I open the doors and our explorers are finally freed from the dungeon after half of them have been crippled and shura has 11hp left
that's right mother fuck year

anyway rallyman is not kill and now we got some new guys
lotte and stella and freyja and ilse maybe gonna help in endgame since I think you gotta have these rescue guys yeah

next time is the finale of fire emblem fates: conquest game and probably I won't make any real attempt to keep units alive if it turns out takumi doesn't attack first on enemy phase
