and as I found out after my playthrough you can just whip out the divine weapons anyway because you aint gonna use up all of them in ch24 not even close
maybe you can use him to pwn a couple horsies in the first few chapters but past that he's the meme unit to end all meme units

also depending on whether the ballista is on a mountain (rider can't get off) or on literally anything else (rider can get off) she could just straight up be killed anyway if no delphi shield since you can't reliably kill them in one round
worked in genealogy because they can't ever get off but here it varies and is usually not worth it in place of just having someone take the hits until ammo is out
also in some chapters ballistas are quite literally unreachable without warp and the riders also have shit like a red gem or orion's bolt on em lol
treck is the worst in the game and noah is decently respectable but worse than the christmas cavvies that you get six chapters earlier
treck is kinda like cecilia with "ass stats and growths but great class which makes them still usable and decent enough"
so he's still a cavalier->paladin but he's the worst one
if you use him sadly you can't see his gonzales support but you can see his juno support which is a fair trade off
everybody likes treck even though he sucks so if you got a place on your team for him (remember deployment limit typically averages around 15) I'd recommend just because treck

my issue with the awakening sprites is I don't have a mega giga 3ds XXXXXL triple deluxe so I literally can't tell what anything is when zoomed out

after looking up fidelity yeah each unit does have a unique sprite and it does look nice when I'm actually able to see it but I need that shit zoomed out so an enemy three spaces outside of my sight range doesn't cause me to lose for the eighth time
also I think 3d looks like ass a lot of the time and I really do not see why this series decided to go 3d at all

anyway I use rescue and pairup in allllmost the same way
to put two units in one and to move shit all across the map
rescue lowers stats because it can get you out of shit situations and pair up raises stats to allow you to reach certain stat numbers but either way I can slap two units together and make them give who they're holding to another guy and another guy and another guy until I have successfully made deke emulate fe1 marth warping to the boss
none of the gba games appear to have particularly amazing stories though the only one I played I thought was actually anything more than "the thing that makes the game move forward" is genealogy which is the one game where you are directly punished by the story being good by having the maps be pain
honestly that one battle before dawn instance is the only time I have disliked a siege tome
usually it's either too weak to kill anyone but strong enough to give an "oh shit" OR it's strong enough to kill shit but on a nonmoving boss or something and I check all enemy inventories anyway so I aint gonna get surprised
when I got bolting in fe6 and actually got to use that shit that was amazing to get to do what the enemies do all the damn time and just explode some fucker from 20 miles away it was epic
honestly most GBA maps and 3ds maps took not too far from the same amount of time other than the exceptions like awakening's pain or GBA's bigass maps
in 3ds I always play with animations off because the animations are so long and the only good one I remember was shura's spinny shooting and usually those take me an hour a piece which lines up with GBA when animations go off
honestly not really sure why I mentioned length I think I meant the physical size of the maps or something I suppose but I only mentioned the time it usually took so eh I dunno
one difference was having to retry stages in GBA while fates never had me doing that shit probably because I was a normal mode scrub but then again fe7 was my first before I even knew what raising up units was and fe6 is fe6
GBA has patches that let you see the unit ranges in the same way as 3ds apparently

but in conquest it kinda just throws gimmick after gimmick at you and you either barely scrape through or you play the map 5 times, learn the gimmick, and then never see it again outside of like
one bad rev map and the original conquest map
one is "gimmick that you can learn" while the other is "gimmick you must adapt to or tolerate" and generally I aint a fan of the latter but I do understand why someone would be
it's kinda like those games that feel like being thrown into the pool without knowing how to swim

under no circumstances can I ever see ch19 as anything more than a horrific mess

the ch2 one was probably the least fine for me but I think either lex or quan just absolutely decimated anything that came at them when I started moving away from the entire ass army and the sleep guy went for alec or sylvia or whoever was up there at the time
never really felt the maps were open either at most I could just split up my party in ch3 to get all the shit before realizing villages are literally just not worth the trouble with their 1/5th of an arena win gold but otherwise it's objective to objective
only reason I think this one has better maps than awakening is because I think both are irredeemable shit but this one is conceptually cool while awakening isn't

I miss cheese warp :(
but fe6's warp range is the user's mag stat or some shit like mag/2+5 which is just as good for letting you bypass large portions of the map so is gud for actual play

only thing that could make shit better is a bad earlygame healer that promotes into light magic that ends up being the warpy frend (elibe)
honestly if he told you the game is absolute shit I think he is recommending is genuinely
because when it comes to things that are genuinely bad instead of "I don't really like this" tier persona 5 they tend to either be an absolute slog or a genuinely comedic and (dis)pleasurable experience

when each genealogy chapter takes one month off my life it reminded me of playing 10 hours of persona 3 each day where it was quite literally one month off my life every day I played it (get it (calendar system))
ok I still don't know what battallions is but yeah it's strange that the closer the games are the more the people tend to hate each other as opposed to when the games are so different that everyone gets along
look at pokemon for example
sure it's degraded HEAVILY over time but still it's basically the same shit and they would gladly rock slide each other if given the chance
one weird exception would be pikmin where it's the types of pikmin and objectives/time limits that change but everyone gets along because there's only three god damn games and we have been waiting nine years for pikmin 4 (I'm afraid it's been... nine years. joke numero cuatro)
rescue the command not the staff fe6 gives you one (1) rescue staff with three uses and if you use hammerne on that everybody has a laugh as you reset the chapter

the hell are they doing there they removed pair up and halved the already halved cast
they did the route split except apparently somehow the worst this series has ever done it
the animations look like ass now (not a fan of 3ds but after seeing three house animations I appreciate them more)
