Mizumaru is a cool name, the bio on her sounds neat as well. I like the connection to Reimu and being of a different Tengu faction. Wondering if they'll ever be prominent, but then again, the Yamawaro To my knowledge never really ended up being very important (but are still cool). Looking forward to trying this eventually.

a lot of the cast this time seems to be just populating the youkai mountain, showing some more of the diversity there and what's going on. a lot of times in doujin works i've seen things generalized as "a bunch of tengu with the unknown tenma making rules, a bunch of kappa doing their own thing, and kanako telling everybody what to do" but it seems like there's a lot more stuff going on and all sorts of little hierarchies, squabbles, and secret little coves like the mine the stage four and extra bosses are hanging out in

just when you think the touhou crazy outfits have chilled out after seeing tsukasa and takane you get hit with tenyuu and momoyo here, huh?

oh yeah and one thing i noticed before the english patch dropped:

we have what i believe to be the very first 俺-using touhou! i think i even saw a ぜ or two. for those of us not knowledgeable on moon runes: that's one of the masculine first-person pronouns, and as you would expect, not many people in gensokyo are tossing it around. none until now, actually. even what i understand to be the slightly more polite slightly less but still relatively masculine 僕 only has a single user by name of mai teireida, damnable be her nonspells.

what does it mean? no clue, i guess she just decided she was awesome. apparently her type of youkai and her ability are good at eating dragons, and from their limited mention so far it seems those guys are not exactly slouches (unless you count meiling), so awesome may be a good descriptor

english patch is out and as far as i can tell gets everything aside from the endings so go crazy get some cards

stage 4 is capitalism's old friend, a mine that doesn't need to worry about health conditions. youkai would make a great workforce if you could force em to work. reimu and co. get chased out after the boss at the time because they simply cannot breathe at all. in extra they come back and explore because they get some special magatama that lets em cheat that part of biology

and difficulty: slightly difficult

nonspells in this game are particularly dangerous but the best part is that if you are struggling with anything in particular you can usually find a card that will help out with it. first few runs will probably just be building up your proverbial deck to select stuff from at the start and even then especially bosses 4 and 5 are tough. tenyuu is kinda chill if you can get in the flow zone though

i would say overall it's a bit harder than wbawc in terms of patterns but if you've got cards it'll vary

and i hate to say it but sanae is the supreme shot type this time around. sakuya is cool, marisa is marisa, and reimu is reimu, but sanae's focused homing can't be beat so if you're going for your first win i recommend her

Come to think of it, surprised Moukou doesn't given her tomboyish demeanor, anger, and such.

some of the most active members use "jobs" to find resources, help create income, and feed their parents. most jobs include working, cleaning, active housekeeping, nose rings, and futility. if lazulum ever worked a job, he would die.

a real touhou official collectible card, for everybody who bought the game at a physical event after the initial online release
extraordinarily fitting as the game is all about markets and purchases that can only happen honestly and in-person. surely, a game made in zun's frustration at not being able to deal games out at conventions like he has always done. theory reimu = covid19, killer of free markets and indepentent businesses (chimata tenkyuu)!?

Wow, I didn't even know there were physical events where distributions was happening.
Most prefectures outside of Kanto and Osaka don't have states of emergencies declared so I wonder if it was at one of those.

It's a nice card, and that's a cool incentive as well to make the trip to pick up a physical copy.
