ahh, forgot about the web version. i usually much prefer doing things on computer but so far, it's been pretty built like a mobile game so i don't terribly mind. i am a bit concerned as to how the english patch gets out but i'm sure that if there's trouble, the translators can ring up jynx themselves and ask since they seem to be on pretty good terms

i ended up maybe checking out all yabusame's route story anyway though! funny guys, as always. thank you for the funny little men, jynx
nilu really is reading straight from the manual though, huh? even to the point of abilities being described as "something like [x]". being an android, is our dear nilu capable of running windows binaries to play len'en, or must an android behold an inferior machine to experience a video game? a troubling conundrum. good thing it might be a book

Update got ported, and wow is that a lot of chips to reach max depth. Might need a few more skip tickets at this rate. Guessing around when the actual release is made he'll get a localization from the translator community on the wiki, but if nothing happens then what can you do?

once again the story just opens up more questions that it can give answers, so bravo jynx. I'm assuming nilu exists like the other monochroids as a meta mascot AND in universe, so maybe it's a break from the usual gacha PC self insert? shitodo themed buckles?? book = suzumi???

Thinking I'll need a thicker tin foil hat before this is over with.

it may be fully free to play and made with best intentions, but a gacha game is a gacha game. grindy. at least autobattle is instant, for the other gacha game i used to play i just had to leave my phone running for 40 minutes every day. there are a couple other gacha pitfalls botc seems to fall into but since its not askin me to cash out, i don't mind

anyway yeah hojiro/haru and the monochroids are in a really funky spot. in the tuber's case it almost canonizes jynx themself, which would be a bit crazy
but yeah super happy that we dont have a self insert, although i bet jynx could have spun it well. i generally have a strong dislike toward named protags and stuff like that but chara is the proof of concept that it can be awesome

that is a crazy ass observation about the shitodos, and honestly you might be on to something. nilu cites tsubakura as one of their creators, and (looking it up to make sure i'm not wrong) hoojiro apparently used to work with them. maybe the elder shitodo put in a little easter egg for their siblings? (it is a stretch)
i don't actually remember much of the hoojirostory since it's been a while. jynx is gonna make me write reference notes on god

Ironically for a game designed not to take money I actually wouldn't mind throwing some at it; most of the merch is basically unobtainium here. 30 hours in ads a year is something I could probably do something productive with. Probably?

Indulging in a bit of inner matpat for a moment: Going with the idea they're built by Rei or Hoojiro, who are in Len'en's real world, Tom and Nilu could be some project to try tracking where everyone went? In theory, it's supposed to be hard to get isekai'd into Mugenri, so maybe that's why they get hit with the amnesia bat? Apparently the vtuber videos exist in universe for them, so they'd have some knowledge of the games and character profiles; maybe they show up in the spaces from EE and that's how they 'replay' the events of the game?

Maybe it's all just red herrings and homelogues?

Anyways, already getting another update; talk about spoiled. Would've shown off Tenkai if I had them so have a sneaky bomb instead

recent jynxposting has hinted that merch might be coming back which would be cool. maybe i said this before once but i got my hands on the bpohc sticker sheet and damn did it cost me a leg and a half and ended up being tiny but its so cool and so exclusive. hard to regret
i wouldn't mind there being some form of monetization, but thinking about it more there's way cooler ways to do it than the usual gacha stuff. maybe you can buy certain money-exclusive characters or stages outright. still digital nothingness but its a lot nicer to kinda have an exclusive actual thing that you can say you have and has an actual impact instead of just going to the machines. kinda like nfts. wait no i didn't mean it i'm sorry

that is a really nice theory. tubakura left a friend behind and they are going to and save them! kinda wild as hell that the games are canon for hoojiro and nilu though. you go a month without seeing a pal and then you see them in some guys steam library. i would be very concerned!
before even knowing about len'en i actually had a theory that the touhou games could be canon in its outside world. i don't know if it works the same in mugenri or if it would even be necessary, but my logic goes as:
- all youkai had to move to gensokyo/gensokyo adjacent places due to a lack of belief
- some wacko (MAYBE YUKARI WHO KNOWS) is sick of it
- however science and stuff can exist alongside youkai (kappa and kourindou and sumireko and nuclear fusion)
- you just gotta have people think that youkai exist
- it wouldnt be in the same way but you could get a lotta acknowledgement outta getting them in some kinda popular media. might be enough to just peek outta gensokyo and go WILD and then EVERYBODY knows you're there and you TAKE BACK the outside world
- makes games/books based on the events of gensokyo and post em or sell em
- once touhou is incredibly popular BOOM. viva la fantasy. no more hakurei barrier necessary

mugenri seems a lot bigger and a lot older than gensokyo so i don't know if anybody would be caring to do such a thing. but: theres my theory. could also just be that jynx wanted to be canon and he is the big rat that makes all of the rules

about the actual game: i haven't actually been playing it recently. taking advantage of jynx's kindness in allowing event characters to shot up in main gacha later so i haven't been feeling the pressure. this is extremely good and other gacha games should copy it, but yeah i'll probably wait a bit more before going hard at it again and then i'll check out tenkai and crew. i do read all the fanbox updates at least

real question: when are we getting LUMEN
that's something i wanna see

i wonder if xeno a will be capable of being added to the game. what are you gonna do with a unit that has 100% crit and 100% dodge, huh?

The barrier splits reality based on what people believe in, right? The games are fiction as far as we know so people could think of the characters and events as not existing, which does make them exist in Gensokyo
course, sumireko would have to fit in somewhere (team shanghai alice?)
I think Mugenri is kind of the same as a land of fantasy? I know one of the book stages compared it to Shangri-la and Eden's garden, making it a kind of fantastic xanadu
don't expect a clear answer soon is the only certain thing

oh my god. july seventeenth. my apologies. luckily there hasnt been any new len'en stuff since then so it is not. super out of touch to respond by now
but yeah i am just shooting in the dark. sumireko and sanae cause a few problems but the idea of her being in team shanghai alice is very funny. i have no idea how mugenri works but i am ready for it to just shift on a dime and all assumptions to be totally overthrown by some offhand suzumi remark

in other news: jynx said something recently about making something new that was not necessarily related to len'en. i do want my monochrome world but i do also wanna see what kinda stuff that could be, especially now that he's in unity, a lotta stuff is on the table.
also merch! funny as always to see the little dudes hanging out in real life. probably will not get any because funds are tight and shipping is a turbopain but hey its cool

I've really no idea what to say, for any other property I'd assume it was a joke. suppose having a cast of vocaloids handling PR takes some of the shock out of it

personally not really into vtubers or streaming at all, really, but it looks like it's going to be used as a dev showcase or community outreach kind of platform, so that's neat I guess

anyway, book of the cafe drops some time next month. we are treated to a very high quality sequence with english subtitles and get to see the mysterious figure

i call them dark doctor yabusame because it literally just can't be possible for tsubakura to not have the hat. i would be too scared.
super huge bonus points on that dialogue sequence though, the text drawing looks super cool and the font is very nice. might be the same font in the other len'en games? i dunno, it's a higher resolution fancy unity game now. jynx has been doing all sorts of little unity trickery, including the little automatic minigame in the productivity streams

Nice seeing some variety in the streams, the LoboCorp sessions are fun to watch, given the nature of the game. Still, if you ever need several 2 hour sessions of keyboard noises I guess you're set
okay, so we have androids for the better part of the EE cast now with Rei, Zelo, and Nilu, being a composite of the Shitodos, giving 5/8 characters which leaves Kurohebi, Clause, and Tsurubami, and it really could be any of them.

That being said, maybe he decided that voiceroids weren't enough and that he really wanted to start adding shadow selves to canon
