share your touhou or not-so-touhou artlike stuff, or simply art talks

i was doing some sprite practice just a bit ago so i whipped up some pixels of the 2020 lunatic red gang

only thing I ever drew that took more than 5 minutes was some guy's face in art class and I got B- but if we ever speak of drawing cubes at simple angles then I can make one in the ms paint

my very small group that i work on indie stuff with doesn't have a proper pixelartist so i have been practicing recently

and yeah, i couldn't forget ebbxxx. we even have a little "carpet", because i didn't want to just leave everybody floating

I think necessity often facilitates good practice. I draw a lot for a group of kids that I teach English to, I've gotten a lot better at it than when I started.

How long have you been doing pixel art for? if you don't mind my asking

ah, drawing for school, my greatest weakness. it's never gone well for me as a student, sounds stressful to be the one demonstrating for others but good to hear that you're getting something out of it

i've been doing pixelart probably for years just when i really needed to, but i've only started doing it more often probably at the start of this year. until just a couple months ago, i had a lot of trouble making anything bigger than 32x32 but now i'm kinda comfortable with bigger. still nowhere close to some of the beasts that make stuff like katana zero or tasofro with their pixels from 13.5-17.5

Top quality cube, evokes the musing of ones mind. Where does the cube begin, where does it end? Alas, the secrets of the cube are obscured by that most pernicious and censorious entity, the Photobucket.

You'll get to that point if you keep at it I'm sure, all skills require practiced hands. The practicing of the hands requires time and patience.

though it may appear the Photobucket prevents us from viewing the majestic form, the truth is that it protects us from the malevolent force held within its barriers
many lives have been stolen in attempts to comprehend this very cube we behold
unsure of its purpose, its secrets, our fellow humans spend day and night studying the cube with hopes to one day realize their ultimate question: "Why?"
only once they have been consumed by the passage of time do they truly understand the secrets of this "cube", which had eluded them for decades,
it represents the fourth dimension, time itself!
but by then, it is too late...
the cube reaches for them, pulling these innocent humans into the fourth dimension, never to return!
we must remember these tragedies as we do history, never to repeat them
the Photobucket gives its life to hold the fourth dimension, limiting its powers and protecting us all
and for this, we must forgive photobucket's watermarking and ruining of every single image from like the past decade probably I dunno
as they say, everything happens for a reason...

so, mostly I see myself in aeon's art piece a lot. I don't know it's a deep meaning, or reincarnation of another Touhou related artwork, but I would like to say something to you, the artist:

representing the 2nd dimension, where the whole touhou takes place because it exists within computer

Those photobucket watermarks are something of an aesthetic at this point haha

I can see through the veneer of normalcy to its underlying, esoteric components. "NORmal CUbee" ==> NORCU, or rather, CURON. A town in northern Italy, and also the focus of an Italian TV drama which is, incidentally, about the supernatural.

Although obscured by Photobucket watermarks, the cube clearly is reminiscent of:

the man has created what was thought impossible, a 2d cube (which is a 3d figure). CURON is an apt namesake to represent its mysticism.
