This forum has a wide range of people from a wide range of countries. Something as localized as the news on State affairs will tickle the fancy of very few people, if any at all. You have to take into consideration that not everyone here is American and not everyone here gives a damn about how that country functions. I was going to post a news report about how our lovely author Margaret Mahey died, but then I remembered no one but me probably knows who she is.

Take a look at your News articles, and then take a look at Genichiro's. What's the difference? Yours focus on state politics. His focus on a variety of things around the world. The real Mona Lisa discovered? I'd like to read about that. Some sports guy getting a fine? Not very interesting at all.

There was absolutely no racism in DDDreamer's statement at all. As they said, they knew just how irrelevant your news stories were in context to our members. DDDreamer was only doing what they thought was best for our community, keeping things relevant.

I have absolutely no idea how you found DDDreamer racist, although I admit my opinion is you Americans find anything that doesn't glorify America offensive.

To sum it all up, you overreacted and did something very rash and silly. Have a think about it and decide whether you want to come back or not.

I agree with Tewi and D3 here. I'm an American. And I DON'T CARE about some silly fine about a sport I dislike, or any politics that DON'T involve my state or the entire country. Why? Because it doesn't interest me, it doesn't AFFECT me, and news makes people depressed.

D3 has just pointed out that you ignored their warning about minimizing local news. If you kept ignoring that warning, they'd be a little more irritated with you. Is that so hard to understand? Oh...I don't know...? Maybe not?

By the way if you care to take a look at LR's rules. You will notice in bold-faced font, that we DO NOT condone swearing of any kind. In the next rule you will see a 'no flaming' at this point, you sound like a flamer, mister.


So in short, they're just giving you a warning on WHAT you're posting and HOW OFTEN you're posting it. That does not need any kind of mean swears or saying they're a 'punk'. If you disagree with them, calmly tell them. And they'd be more than happy to respond why. Except now, since you called them something mean, then they probably won't take you too kindly.

EDIT: And what exactly are you going to do that will hold them responsible? Go to court? When you're in America and he's in Sweden?

I already have read it and made a thorough analysis of it. And after reading it once again, I didn't see the slightest bit of racism.

Please, turn off your America-Vision and look at it at a different perspective.

Racism is not tolerated at all in this forum. The mods are well aware of that. DDDreamer is a mod, and is responsible enough to not post racist or inflammatory comments. Adauchi is a mod too and he has already stated that he sees no racism.

You're once again overreacting. All it would have taken is a PM asking DDDreamer why you disagreed with their decision, and try to reach an equilibrium. But now you've gone and ruined that after calling them something as inaccurate as 'punk'.

Keep in mind that swearing, no matter in what form, is also not tolerated here. Swearing makes it harder for people to see you in a positive light, and makes people unwilling to help you.

On a last note, like Miss Liechtone said, how will you hold them responsible? D3 is the one in power, not you. Luny Red will be more willing to stand up for his own moderator. No one here finds anything racist in it at all. And legally speaking, you can't persecute D3 for jack, since he did nothing wrong.

Unless you brainwash Luny Red into siding with you, or convince the American government to invade Sweden, you're out of moves.

Holy overreaction, Batman!
I make one polite remark that news headlines that concern only a few should be best kept out of the news section and all of a sudden I'm a racist prick. I wish Ken would've stayed so that I could've responded to all this tripe e's spewed at me, but e's left, it seems.
Oh well, I'll respond as if he'd actually stayed to listen to my opinion on the matter.

Basically, here's the deal: The mods thought the news room was getting too spammy, mostly due to Genichiro making a new thread every day, most of which received little to no replies. To cut down on the cluttering, we decided to limit the news to room to things that concerns most members and that most members could respond to.

I even stated in my post that it'd be considered just as spammy if I were to make a thread on some event in Dalarna, Sweden. We actually had a case some time ago where a thread was made that covered a more or less completely Sweden-related matter. Even though we got plenty of responses, it was deemed to narrow for the forum audience and the thread(s) were locked.
You'll simply have to accept that the rules here are what they are and I'm not going to make exceptions for anyone, be they Swedes or U.S Americans.

Personally, I disagree with D3's position - I think all news is of interest to somebody and it doesn't really matter if threads get no replies, although that's a separate debate in itself - but to claim racism is uncalled for. Nothing in D3's post suggests racism or anti-American sentiment. I had to laugh at "Hatred towards me as an American" given that I know many of D3's good friends - from this very forum - are from the US themselves.

I have to mention part of the reason no body replies to news threads is because there's nobody on TO post. As we all know we've currently got staggering inactivity, resulting in no one actually being present to reply. Hope fully it's just a phase and it'll blow over.

And yes, I found it funny too, procyon XD Miss Liechtone's funny response was as well though.

We have recieved complaints about spam regarding the news section. I also saw a public complaint in the "Things you notice in LR" thread.

Genichiro is making too many threads. We get it man, there's no need to flood the forum with news. I know all of us have things to say, but we shouldn't make that many threads unless they are "Touhou" related. Sorry, but I had to say it.

Yes, this is censoring, but what we're censoring is borderline spam. If you look at the news section, there are 6 threads with no replies. Seeing as this is a discussion forum, those threads serve no purpose at all.

tl;dr

We've noticed an increase in threads featuring local news that recieve no replies. We've also recieved complaints about spam regarding these. Because of this, we've decided to confront Genichiro and Ken.

D3 is the one in power, not you.

Just wanted to point out that no one moderator makes decisions here. Everything is discussed thoroughly and then agreed upon.
Though we appoint only one staff member to execute [insert action here]. If Ken has anger towards D3, then he has anger towards all of us staff members.

Aww, I thought KenWatt was a pretty cool guy. It's a shame things have taken a turn this way.

I've read what DDdreamer wrote, and I guess I can kind of see what Ken means? I dunno, just like everybody else, it doesn't seem racist at all. D3 was just using that particular post as an example to get the point across. D3 wasn't targeting Americans or anything like that.

And regarding the news spam thing, I don't personally have a problem with the threads they're making. I mean, I've read pretty much every thread there, rather it concerned me or not, just out of pure interest. If I didn't reply, it was usually because there was nothing to really reply to or because I wasn't exactly sure how to reply. But ehh, whatever, haha. Whatever works I suppose.

Hm, I think confront sounds a bit harsh, but yes, I received a request to cut down on the threads, and complied. Not about to argue with the mods over it, since I was led to believe (and this thread has proven) that it was something of a general consensus among the mods, and not just D3, or any other mod approaching us alone. If there's no interest, there's no interest. Honestly, even I was beginning to think my threads were a little too American leaning for an international forum. In case anyone thinks I was treated any differently, though, I received my notice via PM, and to make sure everyone knows I was not treated any differently:

I considered that a rather polite notice,and have no issue with complying, though, as there were complaints in a public thread (one I don't read XD), I have no issue with anyone voicing complaints towards me in a PM. I'm a pretty reasonable fellow; if something I do bothers you, please let me know; I'm known to be a bit oblivious, to stuff, so approaching me directly, as D3 did, works best.

Anyway, Ken, sorry to see you go, but you're taking things out of context. D3 did warn you about making more threads, and you went and made another one. D3 did as any mod would in that situation.
