Hello and welcome to Lunatic Red! We are very delighted that you came to join with us! We hope you enjoy your stay here in Lunatic Red. ^_^ However, if this is your first time participating in an online forum, we advise you to read the rules and follow them. Forum rules need to be enforced and followed so everyone will have the best experience during their stay here in our forum. 1.) Politeness & respect.- Everyone has a different sense of humor. If you like poking fun with other people, just please keep it to a minimum. There are some people who get easily offended so do be careful at what you say to them or tell about them. Even if you like to have fun, nobody’s allowed to rub it in.
- Please avoid flaming other people. Lunatic Red is a friendly online forum for everyone. I want to keep the environment warm and pleasant for everyone so people would enjoy coming here and that the community will keep growing!
- Do not provoke any member to instigate any form of argument or fight. Just, try not to act like you’re smarter or better than anybody else. If you’re going to make everyone mad at you, then you’re not fit to belong in the forum…
- Explicitly harassing other members (that includes the staff members) is an offense that will surely get you banned.
- Racist, sexist, prejudicial, or any form of offensive comments have NO place within this forum! This is a major offense.
- No mini-modding as well! If you found someone causing a riot, report to a mod by PM. Acting as a mod without the authority could lead you into more trouble with the perpetrator.
The following rules mentioned above do not just apply to threads and posts, but also apply to unmonitored communication such as Private Messages and emails. If you caught any member violating any of the rules mentioned above, whether it’s from a post, topic, or even a PM they sent you, then please report to any staff member the username and the message of the instigator. 2.) Posting Guidelines- Please avoid posting anything that consists of the following:
- One word replies, unless it’s from a forum game. Also, AVOID posting one word acronyms as a reply, such as "lol", or "rofl". They are unnecessary and are considered SPAM.
- A post consisting of only emoticons, or even, just a quoted message by somebody yet you did not supply any further information after you quoted a previous post.
- A post that only agrees or disagrees with the current discussion, while not providing further details why. For example: "Yeah, I agree with you there dude." Done. No explanations were added with that quoted message. Make your posts more informative and constructive if you will agree or disagree with the discussion.
- Please post your topics in the appropriate forum.
- Do not post twice in a row in the same thread. This applies for short posts. If you’ve already posted yet you forgot to add something, then go to your latest post and click the "Modify" button to edit your post so you can add the necessary missing info.
- Always stay on topic. Do not change the subject. If there’s anything to discuss yet it isn’t related with the current topic, then feel free to create a new thread in the appropriate board.
- Bumping of topics is allowed ONLY if the topic hasn’t been touched after 24 hours so Do not post to bump it unless the topic’s been inactive for 24 hours or more. Only the creator of the topic is allowed to do this. Do not ask others to bump your topic for you.
- Everyone is allowed to use the Journal Column to post whatever they wish about anything from their real life activities. However, we advise everyone not to use the Journal Column as a place for venting out their personal frustrations over anything in particular. Please. I strongly believe that everyone would feel uneasy from reading someone's personal anger. And as such, we also advise everyone to take it easy and not post any of their real life frustrations within any area of Lunatic Red. Thank you.
- Trolling is considered SPAM. Do not join the site just to troll, or else you will get banned.
- The "Forum Games" board is the forum’s only "spam area". If you’re bored or feeling random or just feeling silly, then go ahead and have fun posting in the Forum Games! ^^
- [UPDATE: 08/12/11] Regarding YouTube videos:
- For anyone who still wishes to use the YouTube UBBC.. We strongly recommend users to post only a maximum of 3 embedded YouTube videos in one page of a thread. This is to prevent slow loading time of the topics/threads. Please minimize the use of YouTube tags. Posting YouTube links is okay and won't create problems.
- We no longer allow putting embedded YouTube videos inside spoiler tags. The first 2 YouTube videos in a single page of a thread are accompanied by respective advertisements. According to the ProBoards Terms of Service, hiding the ads is a breach of the terms. If you posted a YouTube video inside a spoiler tag, any member of the staff team has the right to remove the spoilers immediately.
3.) Type in proper English. English is the most commonly used language across the globe, and all members come from different areas around the world.- Do not type chat-speak. Please type English properly and legibly. You are in an online forum, NOT in a chatroom.
- Make sure your posts are readable. Proofread your messages before posting. What matters is that everyone can understand what you write.
4.) Things to remember when posting images/links within your message.- [EDIT: 09/04/2009] All large images posted within the board shall be reduced to size to automatically fit the forum's pages & to prevent stretching of pages.
- No hotlinking of images! That means, taking images from a site not belonging to you then you post it into the forum. It’s best that you save that image first, then upload it to an image hosting website. The following image hosting websites for example: Photobucket, TinyPic, Imageshack, imgur, min.us, or dropbox.
- Images that fall under the category of pornography and hentai are STRICTLY FORBIDDEN in this forum! Although I am allowing ecchi* images, if members are going to post ecchi images, you can do any of these two: (1)post only their URL or (2) put the image inside spoiler tags, please. Staff members shall be monitoring all image links posted within the forum. If your image does not comply with this rule, then the image shall be removed from the post. Keep all posted materials worksafe!
- Do not post anything that may cause distress to other people. This includes flashing images or even, images that fall under the category of "guru"...
- Do not post URLs that link to or torrents for pirated/copyrighted items. We also prohibit any exchange of any illegal stuff around the forum. We don't want ProBoards to pull the plug on us...
* Ecchi is per our definition: Images of characters in sexual poses or skimpy clothing; underwear, etc. What crosses the line: Nudity; that is breasts or genitalia. Sexual activity even though fully dressed; that is masturbation, grinding, etc.5.) Regarding your profile.- Your Display Name can be whatever you want to be. You are free to name it anyway you want. Make sure that it follows the Proboards Terms of Service though.
- You can put up a custom avatar if you want. Make sure your avatar’s length and width will not exceed 100x100 pixels. If you used a bigger picture, the picture will just be compressed on display. Also, please refrain from using very large pictures as avatars, because they take up a lot of time to load, yet they are just being compressed on that very little avatar space.. Your avatar must follow the Proboards Terms of Service.
- Avoid using very large pictures as signatures, because they stretch the page too much and ruins the display. You can place text or pictures or a combination of those in your signature. Remember that your signature has to follow the Proboards Terms of Service as well. Maximum width I'm allowing for images in signatures shall be 550 pixels.
- You are not allowed to hotlink to other people’s images from their profile!
- Every member SHOULD ALWAYS have only ONE account within the entire forum. If you have been banned, you can’t create a second account just to come back and to remove your warning level. You’ll get yourself banned immediately. You are also not allowed to create multiple accounts disguising as totally different people. The staff members can easily figure out who is who, so it’s no use playing tricks on us. In any online forum, multiple accounts from one source are ALWAYS prohibited.
6.) About the staff members and position of staff.- Staff members have been chosen carefully and will be responsible for keeping everything organized within the forums. They are the authority so please do respect all of them! Staff members including me created this forum for all of you, and we work hard to keep this place an active community. If you can’t respect the staff, then you are free to leave.
- Do not ask me for applications of claiming the position of staff – more specifically, any of the following positions: admin, global moderator, or moderator. It’s the site creator’s decision of who deserves to be given the appropriate position. If the member displays the qualities necessary to be given the authority, then I shall be sending a PM to the corresponding member if he/she would like to take the position. Of course, a member has to right to accept or refuse the offer, and it’s fine with me whether you refuse.
- If you’re a staff member, please do NOT abuse your powers. You have to make sure that you have understood all the forum rules stated and observe proper netiquette. Be friendly towards your fellow members so that you will serve as their role model also.
7.) Violation of Rules- If a member breaks any of the forum rules through their posts, please use the "Report to Mod" link at the bottom of every post. Staff members shall investigate this matter. You can also drop a PM to any staff member regarding the member's violation.
- The member in question shall receive a warning from the staff member through PM. Please cooperate and listen to the staff member and then avoid breaking another rule again in the forum.
- If the member breaks any of the rules for the third time, consider it equivalent to a ban. This ban shall be a temporary ban.
- After all the warnings and the ban/s, if the member in question still insisted on breaking any of the forum rules for the fourth time, then that would result in a permanent ban.
- If any of the staff members ban you without giving any warning yet it was your first offense, please send a message about your report in any way possible so it could reach us (preferably, to me) then I will see to it that the violation shall be dealt properly and fairly.
Thank you very much for reading the entire set of rules. (We hope you understood them all, seriously…) Abiding by the rules will ensure that you will have a peaceful yet most enjoyable time here in Lunatic Red. Have fun! ^_^
