Just a couple of days away for me: I'm going to visit my grandparents (on my parents' whim) today, and I won't be back until late.
And then tomorrow I have the 10K race I've been training, so I'll be out most of the day tomorrow too. See you when I'm done.

Race over. Did pretty good. Managed a respectable 56 minutes dead, gun-to-tape time (tape-to-tape will be a little less, as there were almost 2,000 runners). Taking into account the minute-or-so I was held up by people at the start, and that my previous best was a 55:55, that's a new personal best for the 10K for me.
For a start, the weather couldn't have been better. Cloudless all day, with just a light breeze to blow away the sweat and cool the runners down. The crowd were both a help and a hinderance: their cheering kept me going, but only through strong thoughts of "for the love of cr*p, let me stop!". It was torture near the start, too; the whole first km, we could smell someone cooking bacon butties just off-course. The hardest part was the km between 3 & 4, as that was a straight, boring stretch alongside a river. I managed to finish before all the fun-runners, though (which included, but was not limited to: Ironman, Batman & Robin, Big Bird & Elmo and a few people dressed up as tomato ketchup), so I'm pleased about that. Even more pleased that I - an independent runner - finished in front of a good number of people from running clubs. Maybe I should join one. Finally, I passed the "200m remaining" marker and broke out into a fast run; there was nobody for about 50m in front or behind me, so I got a big cheer and a mention on the PA system. Great end to a great race.
Anyhoo, good day, new PB for 10K and well up for another one (after I've spent the next 2 months recovering).
